2014 Museum Internship May 10- June 24
The Madison Museum of Fine Art (MMoFA) announces the award of a six week summer internship to Rachel A. Vaught,
Honors student in Museum Studies and Visual Art at Walsh University in Ohio. Vaught’s museum experience includes national and regional institutions including history museums and arts institutions. At
the Birks Center for the Arts in Ohio, she co-curated the National First Ladies Library exhibition First in Higher Education: The College and Career Choices of 13 First Ladies of the United
States. For the Hoover Historical Center, she co-curated The Hoover Company: A Decade of Change and penned feature articles for museum publications. For the Century Village Museum, she
co-curated Nineteenth Century Burton: Lithographs, Oil Paintings and Pencil Portraits leveraging digital collections management. As a visual artist, Vaught
has won recognition for her own paintings and drawings winning 1st Place, Best in Show, Silver Key, and Honorable Mentions in juried exhibitions. At MMoFA, Vaught will co-curate two upcoming
exhibitions, the international British Intelligence: Museum Collection of 21st Century British Art and its American Portrait of Bourbon Redemption: Georgia Artist P.P. Carter

2013 Museum Internship
University of Georgia student Emily Rawlins is passionate about art and hisgtoric preservation. Durikng her time with the museum, Rawlins conducted in person interviews of an award winning Georgia artist to be used in a MMoFA publication. 2011-2012 Art Museum Internship
Graphic design specialist Deborah Thompson chose MMoFA as the subject of a collegiate public relations graphic design application where she designed a graphic portfolio package including museum logo, letterhead, and museum brochure. A student at Kennesaw Univeristy in Georgia, Thompson completed her degree and applies her graphc design expertise in industry. 2006-2010 Home School Internship
Visual artist and art history enthusiast, Georgia resident Rachel Gallagher served 4 years as MMoFA museum docent, museum store assistant manager, museum tour guide, and youth instructor for numerous art museum educational exhibitions ranging from Old Master to Impressionist to Modern Master themes. Gallagher and her family chose the MMoFA as the scholastic venue for her high school graduation ceremony. At the conclusion of her MMoFA internship, Gallagher obtained a position at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.
